On-site seated massage

Seated Shiatsu massage takes place on a comfortable, specialist massage chair. I use hand pressure, stretches, joint rotations, and acupressure points to relieve tension, stress and pain.

Seated Shiatsu massage is particularly suited to desk workers and people in need of some rest and rejuvenation:

• It covers the upper and lower back, the shoulders, arms, neck and head.
• As well as massage with hands/fingers, it involves shoulder rotations and acupressure points.
• It helps overall well-being - using the the ‘meridian’ (energy pathways) system in Chinese Medicine

At workplaces

Managing work-related stress is a vital component of managing your staff effectively (Chartered Institute of Personnel Development). Work-related stress accounts for nearly a half of all work-related ill health cases, and over a half of all working days lost due to ill health (Health and Safety Executive).

Shiatsu massage can help reduce work-related stress. It is incredibly relaxing and calming, and can help staff to switch-off and recharge for the rest of the working day. It is therefore an effective way to reduce work-related stress as part of a company’s health and wellbeing strategy (National Institute for Clinical Excellence), and is advocated by major bodies such as the British Heart Foundation and mental health charity, MIND.

Shiatsu is effective for relief of muscle tension, back pain, and neck pain that can develop from working at a desk over long periods (evidence from the US government’s National Centre for Complementary and Integrative Health). It can also have a positive effect on migraine and tension headaches.

At events, fairs retreats

I am available for all kinds of corporate and community events and fairs, as well as wellbeing days and retreats. I use a shelter for outside venues.

Shiatsu massage provides a great way for visitors/delegates to relax and unwind as part of the day's activities.

Bookings

Block booking cost is £40 per hour, or £10 per 15 mins for individuals

All equipment is provided. All that is needed is space for the massage chair. It is easy and convenient – clients are fully clothed and there are no messy oils.
